Sloane Stephens wins once again.

The 28-year-old Florida native, who won the 2017 U.S. Open, won her first tournament championship in nearly four years on Sunday when she won the Akron Zapopan Open. He held on to beat Czech Marie Bouzkova by a margin of 7-5, 1-6, 6-2 to secure the title.

Stephens was number 3 in the world at one point, but entered the game in 57th place in the world.

Stephens was undefeated in the first six WTA singles finals of her career, which included a Grand Slam championship at the 2017 US Open and a WTA 1000 crown in Miami in March 2018.

Since winning a title nearly four years ago, Stephens has been 0-3 in its last three finals. Stephens hadn’t reached a final since 2018, when he made his appearance in the WTA Finals championship game last year.

In Guadalajara, Stephens put an end to that drought and won another title, becoming the third American to win a WTA individual title this season. The others are Amanda Anisimova in Melbourne Summer Set 2 and Madison Keys in Adelaide International 2.

Stephens also won 1-1 in the clashes against Bouzkova.
