Georgia voters head to the polls for the Senate runoff ballot in Peach. Republican Herschel Walker and Democratic incumbent Raphael Warnock will face off for the final time on Tuesday.
Nearly 2 million Georgians have already voted through early voting. A record turnout is expected. The winner of the race decides whether the Senate will sit with her 50/50 split or a 51/49 Democratic majority.
For the most part, the campaign was very thin as candidates fought over issues as diverse as the economy, record-high inflation, border security, and abortion.
“You know what’s going on,” Walker said. “We got open borders, we got safe borders, but we needed to put proper leadership in Washington. We have people, but we can work it out.You have to put the right people in Washington. If you put the right people in Washington, it’s not going to happen.”
Walker has sworn to vote by the constitution and the people, but Warnock has been constantly knocked out because of his voting record.
“I can’t think of anything he didn’t vote with us,” Walker said. “There could be something.
Warnock warns his supporters not to underestimate Walker.
“Voter turnout during the early voting period was record,” said Warnock. “But I don’t want you to underestimate our opponents.”
Voting in Georgia closes at 7 p.m. Eastern time.
