The attack occurred just before 8:00 a.m. on May 26 in South Los Angeles, where the woman punched the girl for no reason and she collapsed.
“I saw a homeless man who just passed me and punched a little girl in the face,” Ilias said. KTLAand moved to action. “At that point, I ran to help.”
The man said he was thinking of his daughter and knew he had to act.

“She was yelling racial slurs. She was saying things like, ‘I’m sick of Hispanics,'” he said of the homeless raider.

The video shows Ilias running up and pushing the attacker away from the girl. He was able to hold the woman down until police arrived on the scene.

“The homeless man started pulling out his weapon and before I knew what it was, I tried to kill him and he cut me in the face,” he said.
Victor Camarena, Ilias’ friend across the street, heard the commotion and ran over to help him.
“By that time John had already taken the suspect into custody,” Camarena told KTLA.
“He had blood gushing out of the side of his face and asked me if I was okay.
Fortunately, Ilias was in the right place at the right time, he and Camarena said.
‘God knows what would have happened to that girl if he hadn’t been home that morning and couldn’t find his car keys and everything had gone as badly as it did that morning,’ said Camarena. said. .

A homeless woman was arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department. It is not known if she has been charged.
