Michigan and Michigan’s longtime rivalry boiled over Saturday night after the Wolverines won 29-7 at the Big House, and it quickly turned ugly.

A person near the scuffle could be heard saying, “What’s wrong?”
It appears that no other Michigan player was near McBurrows when the incident occurred.
Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh said a second unidentified player was also attacked, with one injured and possibly with a broken nose.
“Two players were assaulted,” Harbaugh said. “Saw it on one video. 10 to 1. Pretty bad. Needs investigation.”

An investigation is ongoing in collaboration with the Michigan State University Police Department, Michigan Athletic Department and Football Programs. University of Michigan Deputy Chief of Police Melissa Overton said:
“Situation like this and the safety of our community are taken very seriously,” Overton said.
Michigan athletic director Ward Manuel said Big Ten Commissioner Kevin Warren, who attended the game, is also considering the game.
“What happened after the game was completely unacceptable,” said Manuel. “I spoke with the commissioner and he is looking into it. The police saw the video and are looking into it. Another video showed a fan touching the top of Michigan State coach Mel Tucker’s head. Tucker then swiped the fan.
