Harlan passes Warren in an overtime shootout. Sotomayor wins the show for the first time.Judson’s Stanley scores his 6th touchdown in his 60-50 win

Like every week of high school football season, there’s at least one “Game of the Year” nominee. You can pick his three games at the Alamodome from his KSAT Pigskin Classic in Week 1. Uvalde’s incredible win over his pass to the Eagles in the home opener of Week 2 scored the winning run. The 4 was highlighted by some great finishes, including Pearsall over Poteet, Steele’s extra time win over Midland his legacy and Jefferson’s wild win over Brackenridge.

Week 5 put all the rest up one in at least one way. To provide the two highest scoring games of the season. Harlan and Warren needed overtime to decide the game scoring 111 points, but Judson beat Midland his legacy at home in a game scoring a total of 110 points in regulation. . The offense is clearly gaining momentum as the team steadily leaves non-district play in their rearview mirrors as they approach the halfway point of the season.

Steel 48, Fort Bend Christian Academy 7

The Top Ranked Knights showed their strength under the night lights on Friday at Lenhof Stadium against Fort Bend Christian Academy.

Steele (5-0) led 7-0 after a quarter of action before pedaling in the second quarter.star running back Jadon Bailey double the lead with an elusive 50-yard touchdown run, Alvin Williamson In just a few minutes, the Knights were leading 21-0. Bailey added another 4-yard score late in the frame and Steele went into halftime with a commanding 28-0 lead.

That trend continued in the second half. Bailey scored again from 4 yards midway through the third quarter to take a 35–0 lead. David Hart Added an exclamation mark on the first play of the 4th quarter on a blocked punt. He retrieved a loose ball himself in the end zone as the Knights pulled off a convincing 41-point win.

This concludes the out-of-district schedule. The Knights are now gearing up to start their District 27-6A game against New He Braunfels (3-2) next Friday.


Harlan 59, Warren 52 (OT)

Saturday is usually reserved for college football, and there were definitely some crazy finishes at Lubbock and AT&T Stadium. The Red Raiders’ incredible comeback and the Aggies’ thrilling win over Arkansas were undoubtedly memorable, but the craziest ending to the night’s football game was the District 29-6A showdown between Harlan and Warren. The Warriors (4-1, 2-1) took control of the game right out of the gate with two touchdowns. Darien Holmes An early 13-0 lead, but Harlan fought back with 21 consecutive points.The Hawks (3-2, 1-2) gave him an 8-point lead on his 13-yard touchdown from the quarterback. Noah Faris To Peyton Matthews We went into the locker room at halftime 24-21. After the break, the sides traded scores early in the third quarter until Warren began to pull away. Quincy Amos After giving the Warriors the lead with a 75-yard pick 6, Andrew Cisneros Adding a 4-yard touchdown capped a 21-point third quarter barrage and gave Warren a 42–31 lead going into the final 12 minutes of regulation.

That’s when things got For real wild.Faris found Jacob Gonzalez A 49-yard touchdown made it a 4-point game with 10:17 remaining. Harlan recovered the ball late in the frame and quickly scored again. This time, Gonzalez stole a staggering 80-yard touchdown run to put the Hawks up 45-42 with less than four minutes remaining. The grace period did not last long. Just over 20 seconds later, Warren regained the lead with a great effort from a wide receiver Elijah Realosacaught a quick incline from the quarterback Antonio Meza Split a pair of defenders for a 74-yard touchdown and a 49-45 advantage.36 seconds later, Gonzalez thought another big play. He caught Warren’s quick throw at his line for 48 yards and went inside 20 yards before being tackled by three of his Warriors defenders. Within a minute, the two teams had exchanged the lead twice, giving him a combined 21 points. At the end of the night, Gonzalez scored about 300 total offensive yards and his three touchdowns.

Somehow the roller coaster wasn’t over yet. With just under three minutes on the clock, Warren moved into field goal range, thanks to Holmes’ incredible leaping grab. Holmes finished the night with 19 catches for a whopping 279 yards. Meza led Warren’s strong offense, completing 30 completions for 441 yards and three scores.kicker Henry Pentz Starting a 46-yard field goal with 25 ticks left to tie the game at 52-all forced overtime.

Harlan took the ball first and scored immediately.Faris found a fake pump Isaiah Manchester An incredible back shoulder throw for a 28-yard touchdown. Elijah Walton Recovered a forced fumble on Warren’s next possession, sealing one of the wildest wins we’ve ever seen. With the win, the Hawks are back in the playoff race with a 1-2 record in district play.


Sotomayor 14, Holmes 8

For the first time in program history, the Sotomayor soccer team left the ballpark with a win.

The Wildcats (1-3, 1-1) broke a scoreless tie late in the first half thanks to pressure from sophomores Tristin WoodruffHolmes quarterback Isaac Martinez Pushed back into the end zone, he avoided the sack by removing the ball, but was eventually flagged by the referee for an intentional grounding. It wasn’t pretty, but it’s a rare win, especially in District 29-6A. Sotomayor have been fighting hard this season. The Wildcats have a lot to celebrate as their first season nears the halfway point.


Sam Houston 26, Edison 24

Division 14-5A Division II is in chaos once again, with three teams in a 2-2 stalemate in divisions. Sam Houston was lucky enough to be one of those three after making a thrilling fourth-quarter comeback against Edison on Friday.

The Hurricanes (3-2, 2-2) went first with a 61-yard pitch-and-catch from the quarterback Albert Goodrow To Jeremiah Espitia, however, the Golden Bears (2-3, 1-3) returned the fire with 17 straight points.quarterback Roger Lopez When Ethan Escamilla Each touchdown run scored put Edison up 17–7 in the second half. That’s when the hurricane attack gained momentum. First, Goodrow found the end his zone with his 1-yard plunge to cut the deficit to his five, making it 24-19. Then, after a minute or so, Nakwentis Brooks Scoring on a 14-yard touchdown skipper gave Sam Houston his first lead since the first quarter, 26–24. It is kept as the game-winning score. Brooks finished with 23 carries for 110 yards and that touchdown as the Hurricanes returned to the prime of the district race.


Thursday night, I visit the Alamo Stadium every week, Harlandaleand Brackenridge duel. When I last saw the Indians in person, their offense recovered from a slow start to beat Edison 20-14. After enjoying the wonderful atmosphere and returning to the station, TMI Episcopal Friday night I found myself drawn to the current JudsonHome game against Midland Legacy. After suffering a three-game losing streak, the Rockets were desperate for a win but responded in strong fashion.dynamic running back Nathaniel Stanley It was at the center of the craziest game of the weekend. Rush 28 times for 159 yards and 4 touchdowns, catch 6 passes for 51 yards and 2 pointsThat’s right, Stanley ended up being outrageous six Total touchdowns, and each showcased a different weapon in his versatile skill set. Now Judson has righted the ship next week as he prepares to enter the Division 27-6A game against his Central 2-3 East.
