FBI investigating shooting at Texas Border Patrol facility that killed immigrant ‘aimed at agent’s gun’
Migrants in custody shot dead at Isleta border patrol base in El Paso, Texasofficials said on Tuesday afternoon.
A man detained at the station at the time of the shooting was taken to a local hospital but died of his injuries. Brandon Judd, spokesperson for the National Border Security Council, told Fox News Digital that the migrants “went at the agent’s gun” just before the shooting and the agent used “appropriate force at that point.” said he did
“At approximately 1:00 p.m., the FBI El Paso field office was contacted by Isleta U.S. Border Patrol about investigators being involved in a shooting involving a person detained at the station,” said the FBI El Paso representative. Special Agent Jeffrey R. Downey said. “The FBI El Paso Violent Crimes Task Force and Evidence Response Team have been deployed to the station. One person has been taken into custody and transferred to a local hospital for treatment. The FBI, the El Paso Police Department, and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Professional Responsibility are currently actively working on the scene, and as this is an ongoing investigation, no further information is available at this time.
