Shortly after Sorokin arrived at her apartment, Sorokin, a German citizen born in the Soviet Union, new york times and shared her feelings.
‘I’m really happy. “Nothing was guaranteed,” she began. And I had to find someone who matched my vision, I had to make it happen instead of just accepting “no” as the answer.
According to Sorokin, the one-bedroom apartment her lawyer got stuck in was sparsely furnished, along with trash bags from the facility stuffed with her immigration papers.
“I could have left, but I chose not to because I’m trying to right what I did wrong,” she said. I felt like I was running away from something if I was in Europe. But what if prisons don’t prove people wrong?”
When the Times asked what was next, Sorokin exclaimed: I would have to do so many things. I’m so excited right now that I can’t sleep quite a bit. I mean, folks, I literally just got out of prison!
And on Saturday, Sorokin already appeared to be working on plans for the future, with a photo shoot at the East Village pad.
She was spotted posing in one of the windows while the photographer perched on the fire escape to capture the right angle.
Other shots showed the felon high on the roof, looking down at the New Yorkers below her.

A one-bedroom apartment in the East Village was snatched up by her lawyer, Sorokin said.
Sorokin’s attorneys successfully appealed to a judge to grant her release on Wednesday.
U.S. immigration judge Charles Conroy agreed and put her under house arrest.
However, his release was delayed as bail was ready.
Judge Conroy said the 31-year-old Sorokin is notorious, so it would be difficult for her to fly under radar and avoid detection.
“She has to comply with the conditions of her release imposed by both the New York State Parole Board and the Immigration Service, which, combined with her status as a public figure, makes it particularly difficult for her to evade detection.
“For all these reasons, the Court [Sorokin’s] The risk of escape has been sufficiently mitigated,” he said in the ruling.
Sorokin’s immigration attorney, John Sundweg, said in a statement: “Immigration detention must be reserved for those who pose a danger to society or an unmanageable escape risk.
“After 17 months of immigration detention, and years after she completed her prison sentence, we are pleased that the court has found that such detention is no longer appropriate for Ana.
“Definitely she won’t get a free pass,” Sandweg added. “She will continue to face deportation proceedings and her release will be closely monitored by the government.
“Nevertheless, continued detention was not necessary, as the court found.”
Sorokin wants to stay in the US even though he doesn’t have a visa. She’s from Russia, but she’s also related to Germany.
The convicted fraudster, who spent the past 18 months in ICE custody, was released from an Orange County prison on Friday and transferred to Manhattan.

She rose to notoriety in 2018 after being arrested for missing out on hundreds of thousands of dollars from luxury hotels and restaurants in Manhattan.
Her crime was later the subject of the hit Netflix series Anna the Inventor.
Sorokin has kept himself busy behind bars with multiple media and podcast interviews.
She has auctioned prison sketches and has written poetry.
She wrote an article for DailyMail.com last month, complaining that the US immigration system is broken, saying she has been “buried in a sinkhole in the US immigration system” for 18 months.
“Definitely she won’t get a free pass,” Sandweg added. “She will continue to face deportation proceedings and her release will be closely monitored by the government.”
“Once you are under ICE custody, it is entirely up to ICE what happens next. Immigrants can be detained indefinitely without a judge reviewing whether or not they were,” she added.
“The prison where I am held is notorious for being understaffed. ICE can detain them for less.
“These detainees are now far removed from their local support system of friends and loved ones, and those fortunate enough to have access to legal counsel are deprived of the ability to communicate easily with them directly. Hearings held remotely are not suitable for defendants to consult with counsel during proceedings.
