Woman killed after being struck by car by bullets fired outside Eastside bar

San Antonio – A bullet fired outside a bar on the East Side early Monday morning struck and killed a woman sitting in the back seat of her car.

The shooting occurred after a disturbance at a bar on the 1500 block of Gevers Street, according to San Antonio police.

However, the victim was found about half a mile away on the 800 block of Hammond Avenue.

Officers said two other people in the car with the woman were initially unaware that she had been hit.

They later stopped and called for help.

A woman in her 20s was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head when police found her.

Officers at the scene said they had no information about the shooter and had made no arrests.

It is unclear whether the woman who was killed was the target of the shooting or was hit by a stray bullet.
