San Marcos, Texas – A San Marcos Police Department officer has been arrested after he resigned days after being accused of domestic violence.

Kyle Lobo voluntarily resigned from SMPD on Thursday, according to a news release.

The resignation came three days after the SMPD was notified by the Hayes County Sheriff’s Office of criminal charges related to domestic violence against Lobo.

The SMPD immediately put Lobo on leave and simultaneously launched an internal investigation, while the HCSO conducted an independent criminal investigation.

According to a news release, Lobo was arrested on suspicion of continued violence against a family member and injury to a child.
