This page explains how Texas News Today reports, verifies and publishes. It applies to every article on this site.
Accuracy and sourcing
We aim to base reporting on primary sources: public records, court filings, regulatory documents, company statements, official data and named interviews. When we cite another publication’s reporting, we say so and link to the original.
Where a claim is contested, we say who is making it and note where the disagreement lies. We do not present allegations as established fact.
Named bylines and author accountability
Every article carries the name of the person who wrote it, linked to a profile that lists their background and areas of coverage. We do not publish under collective pseudonyms or invented names.
Coverage of individuals and legal matters
We take particular care with articles naming private individuals in connection with lawsuits, investigations or criminal proceedings. Such articles must be sourced to public court records or official filings, must state clearly what stage proceedings have reached, and must note that allegations are unproven unless a court has ruled.
We will remove or amend such an article promptly if it is shown to be inaccurate.
Independence from advertisers
Advertisers and sponsors have no influence over our editorial coverage. No advertiser receives advance notice of, or approval over, an article. Editorial decisions are made independently of commercial relationships.
Sponsored and paid content
Any content we are paid to publish — including sponsored articles, advertorials and paid placements — is:
- labelled “Sponsored Content” or “Paid Partnership” prominently at the top of the page
- attributed to the sponsor, not to a Texas News Today journalist
- marked with
rel="sponsored"on outbound commercial links - excluded from our news feeds and homepage news sections
We do not accept payment to publish content that is presented as independent editorial reporting. Full terms are on our Advertise With Us page.
Affiliate links
Where an article contains an affiliate link, we disclose this in the article. Affiliate arrangements do not determine which products we recommend.
Use of artificial intelligence
We may use AI tools to assist with research, transcription, formatting or headline drafting. We do not publish AI-generated articles as human reporting. Every published article is written, verified and approved by a named human editor who is accountable for its accuracy.
Corrections
We correct errors openly. See our Corrections Policy.
Reader concerns
To raise a concern about accuracy, fairness or a conflict of interest, email texasnewstoday.com@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 7 business days.
