UVALDE, Texas – The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo is holding a qualifying event in Uvalde for the first time in rodeo history.

The announcement was made last week for the event, which will take place at 7pm on January 14, 2023.

“We are excited to bring this event to Uvalde at the County Fairplex and give many professional rodeo competitors a chance to compete at the AT&T Center in February,” said Rodeo Executive Director and CEO Cody Davenport.

The Uvalde Qualifying Event will be open to all Rodeo Cowboys and Women Professional Association card and permit holders.

“We started this ride in March 2022 to showcase our local competitors and feel that this event will help the economy and businesses in Uvalde and show what a great place to visit in Texas,” Davenport said.
