Coordinator Jack Del Rio’s defense has sealed it to win the first match against the Raiders since being fired by the team following the 2017 season.

The game was sealed when Derek Carr’s desperate wave from 43 was incomplete and fell below the goal line.

The Raiders suffered a fourth defeat in five games as the attack stalled after a strong start of the season, unable to build a victory in the Dallas Thanksgiving extra time.

Carr seemed to miss the injured tight-end Darren Waller and was unable to connect to a big play with DeSean Jackson, who helped win last week, resulting in two field goals in the first three quarters.

Las Vegas finally entered the end zone when Josh Jacobs restricted a 75-yard drive with the help of three defense penalties on a one-yard run. Kerr missed Brian Edwards behind the end zone in a two-point attempt to keep Washington leading 14-12.

Slow start

The Raiders punted on the first three drives and then scored a 52-yard field goal from Carlson in the last few seconds of the first half, reducing the deficit to 7-3. It was the fifth time this season that Las Vegas failed to record a touchdown in the first half of the game.

According to NFL NextGen statistics, the car traveled a total of 36 yards downfield in the first 18 passes and had a hard time pushing the ball downfield.
