Italy was the first to be hit by a COVID-19 pandemic outside of Asia and suffered enormous damage. Italy has recorded more than 128,000 deaths from the coronavirus, the highest in the European Union of 27 countries.

In the next week, Italy has already won a total of 26 medals in all sports. This is only two less than the medals Azuri brought back from Rio.
Jacobs was born in Texas to an American father and an Italian mother. When Jacobs was six months old, his parents broke up and he moved to Italy and didn’t know his father. When the sprinters tried to learn about his roots, they reconnected by phone about a year ago.
