Video shows a Texas fuel tanker explosion near Crowell, Texas

Crowell, Texas — Several people were injured after a fuel tanker ignited and exploded near Crowell, Texas on Sunday. Crouwel is about 80 miles west of Wichita Falls.

Ford County Sheriff Mike Brown told WFAA that a truck driver and several volunteer firefighters were injured in the incident, but their injuries were minor.

A bystander who captured the dramatic moment when the tanker exploded. This was posted on the Facebook page by the Crowell Volunteer Fire Department.

The video, which lasts about 10 seconds, begins after the tanker has already ignited. In about 3-4 seconds, when the fire turns into an explosion, you can see the object flying to the left, like a rocket. It was a fuel tank, Brown said.

After popping out of the frame, the flames and smoke swirl into a mushroom cloud-like shape, ending the video.

According to Brown, the tanker belongs to a local harvester and has leaked. After that, a fire broke out due to the leak, causing an explosion.
