Former Planned Parenthood staffer commits suicide five days after failed child porn crackdown

The former director of strategic communications for the Southern New England chapter of Planned Parenthood committed suicide this week in Connecticut while investigating child pornography.

Police have not named abortion advocate Tim Yergeau, 36, as a suspect in the investigation, but have confirmed that a man who committed suicide in an apartment building is a suspect.

Jacobson called for an internal affairs investigation after members of the Special Victims Unit “knocked on the wrong door, obviously.” The investigation also explores how Yelgo took his own life after the attack.

Ms. Wesenter said she heard a bang around 6 a.m. when she noticed the police were tearing down her door and sifting through her apartment with guns at her fingertips.

“I started running down the hallway. It was like a movie. They had a gun and a flashlight on me,” Wesenter said.

“They pushed me against the wall and handcuffed me.

Wezenter could hear the police yelling “clear, clear” each time they entered the room.

“I was like, ‘What kind of man?’ I am here with my children,” she said. ‘They asked, ‘Who’s Tim?’ ‘And I said it was my neighbor downstairs.’

When she saw her son’s toys, she realized they were in the wrong place, she explained to the outlet.

Officers were keeping tabs on the neighbors under investigation, she added.

Wesenter then filed a complaint and police tried to refer her to mental health services, but she refused.

“I was going to go there and talk to him,” she said of her neighbor, before realizing he had taken his own life.

“I just thought that a little act of kindness might help.”
