Commerce City, Colorado. – Larimaviara scored in the 90th minute and Portland Timbers defeated the Colorado Rapids 1-0 on Thursday to advance to the final of the Western Conference.
Portland will face the winner of the match between Sporting Kansas City and Real Salt Lake on Sunday.
Jimi Chara’s corner kick was distracted into the air, and Christian Paredes directed Mabiala into a six-yard box to knock home. Mabiala did not score throughout the season before participating in the continuous playoff game.
Portland star playmaker Sebastian Blanco set out early in the second half, apparently with a leg injury. As he tried to run on the forward pass, Blanco went to the ground, grabbed the back of his taped left foot and immediately signaled a change.
Portland will miss Dairon Asprilla in the final of the meeting after receiving a bright red card for violence during the second half of the downtime.
