Dak Prescott’s thirst for football is insatiable, and his thirst for light meals during practice at Mica Parsons is unfulfilled. Ezekiel Elliott needs to help wrap a birthday present, and Jerry Jones takes notes with a second pencil.
The Dallas Cowboys’ third appearance on “Hard Knock” was full of jokes, quirks, and arrogance at the season premiere on Tuesday night.
The “Hard Knock” premiere shed light on Prescott’s return from a severe ankle injury and subsequent shoulder tension. In short: The Cowboys’ $ 40 million quarterback didn’t stop working … and he was injured by overuse related to his throwing shoulder latissimus dorsi. Prescott hasn’t made a meaningful throw for two weeks after finishing his first cowboy padded practice. A Cowboys doctor asked trainers from the Texas Rangers and the New York Yankees for advice, and found a “hard knock” footage.
Head coach Mike McCarthy, revealed by Mike, needed only one word to express his feelings from the bystanders that afternoon. It rhymed with “duck”.
Still, Tuesday’s debut episode featured far more humor than frustration from injuries. Prescott’s friendship with draft classmate Elliott peaked when Elliott aimed to surprise the quarterback with a gift-wrapped luggage bag … “You really have a lot of ass. You really have to be exhausted from kicking. ”
What was Elliott’s reaction when Prescott interrupted a YouTube video-guided gift wrapping session? The running back slammed the door in the face of his quarterback.
“What do you want, man?” Elliott said on his 28th birthday he would help an aggressive lineman break the cake on Prescott’s face. “You are trying to ruin your surprise.”
Here are five important highlights from the debut episode:
1. Dak Prescott’s work ethic
“Hard Knock” captivated viewers behind the scenes of Prescott’s first maniac training, including a “575” GPS measurement that trainers and coaches decided were too expensive.Prescott’s reaction to pitch count: “I haven’t issued this [expletive].. I sat down enough last year. … I don’t know why [expletive] They took me out of their charge.
“I [expletive] Pain or something is bothering me. ”
A few days later, after his shoulder tension, he will need to do so.

2. Mica Persons-Dunk in Dynamic
The Parsons personality has been on display since the Cowboys ranked linebackers 12th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. “Hard Knocks” shows more of what’s in his head from the treats he’s practicing. “Penn State University was eating a snack in practice. I loved it …. Lions are always hungry,” says Parsons – for special guidance from his defense coordinator. The footage shows Parsons beating on one deep route and then diving for interception shortly thereafter. Parsons have demonstrated their ability to learn and grow quickly.
“It was the first time I ran away from you. That’s why you have to do it. [expletive] I’m going, “Quin told him. Parsons explained how he got involved in the first play before figuring out how to get free for the second time.
Coach player dynamics followed the Hall of Fame game where Parsons flashed ball hawk skills to restore fumble. Still, Quinn called from the booth and warned Parsons that the chance was over after 11 defensive snaps.
“Become a supermarket [expletive] Quinn speaks to Parsons answering a bystander coded phone call. Parsons begs, “Can I get another (series) tonight?” Quinn declines. “This is the worst,” says Parsons. Parsons calculates a total of nine hours waiting for him on the sidelines, buses, and planes.
3. Look inside Mike McCarthy’s motives
The debut of “Hard Knock” is a video about Mike McCarthy’s Austin Powers, introducing “Mojo Moment” to the Cowboys practice. But perhaps McCarthy’s debut Mojo moment came when he let the players embrace the work ethic that the Super Bowl champion team had to show.
“It’s hard not to look back on last year’s experience,” McCarthy began, referring to the Cowboys’ 6-10 campaign for his debut season. “”[Expletive] last year. ”
McCarthy demanded that players “do not waste each other’s time” at a training camp to tone the 2021 slate in 17 games.
“Charlie [expletive]-Around, he doesn’t work here, “McCarthy said. “High school Harry, put out your ass [expletive] door. This is about winning. It’s about winning the world championships. Limit. Limit. That’s all that matters. ”
McCarthy, who won the Super Bowl XLV as head coach of the Green Bay Packers, set a record and told players that post-season success alone was not enough.
“And if you hold it [expletive] Raise the trophy and I’ll tell you: it’s [expletive] It’s heavier than I expected. ”
4. John Fassel … Vasectomy?
After all, the coach is a teacher, right? “Hard Knock” cleverly opened the scene, noting that players on the 90 training camp roster were always worried about being cut. The scene then blends into the de facto minister of John Fassel, who is the coordinator of the special team and asks questions about vasectomy.
“Did you lose your drive?” The camera crew asked one player who didn’t show up. “Oh no,” Fassel immediately equipped the room full of laughter. “Everything is exactly the same.” After elaborating further, a special team contributor told Facel, “Coach, you are a soldier.”

5. This Week’s Wingman, Dak Prescott
If viewers shut off “hard knocks” before the credits rolled, they would have missed some of Prescott’s best lines. Prescott finds himself obsessed with “hard knocks” and asks what looks like an equipment assistant if he has a girlfriend who wants to scream through the microphone.
“Just in case,” Prescott speaks to a young blonde with a gatorade towel on his shoulder. “If you need it, I can help you in your love life.”
Assistant’s response: “Yes, I need all the help I can get it.”
Episode 2 of “Hard Knock: Dallas Cowboys” will debut on HBO and HBO Max on Tuesday, August 17th at 10 pm EST.
