The Sports Illustrated model was a COVID nurse in New York

Maggie Rollins is more than a pretty face.

Many have been introduced as Sports Illustrated swimwear models at the age of 28, but New York patients know her as a lifesaver — South Carolina natives at Queens’ medical facility during COVID’s heyday. I’m a registered nurse working-19 pandemics last spring.

“I worked in Los Angeles, and I booked a return flight [to South Carolina] I thought it was a month or so. ”

Towards the end of March 2020, New York City was flooded with coronavirus-positive cases and hospitalizations, calling for nurses. Maggie never thought again and went to Big Apple for help.

“I had the skills as a nurse. It was my responsibility above all …. You just started running. There were many obstacles,” she said. It is also a model. “I don’t think anyone cares at that point.”

As a healthcare professional, Maggie has worked around the world, including triage nurses in Uganda and Nicaragua.

With the problematic exposure of Sports Illustrated swimwear, Maggie wants to draw attention to full-time nurses at the forefront.

“I want to emphasize that I was there for only three weeks, which is nothing compared to the sacrifices they made,” she said. “COVID is not stopping for them.”

MJ Day, editor of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, posted a photo of Maggie on Instagram in early March, writing: I love to celebrate and highlight. “
