Sheboygan, Wisconsin. – Latest Ryder Cup Day 2 (always CDT):
The second day of the Ryder Cup is underway as the United States seeks to expand its historic 6-2 lead.
Daniel Berger fired a tee shot in the middle of the fairway and started his first foursome match in the morning. Berger is paired with his old Florida State University teammate Brooks Koepka for the Spanish duo of Jon Rahm and Sergio Garcia.
When the first match was played in sunny weather at 48 degrees Celsius (9 degrees Celsius), the great basketball player Michael Jordan was at hand. The expected maximum temperature is 66 (19 C).
Ram and Garcia were the only pair to win a European match on the first day, leaving the Europeans with the biggest first day deficit since the Ryder Cup was expanded to include players across the continent in 1979.
In other matches, Dustin Johnson and Collin Morikawa will face Paul Casey and Tyrrell Hatton. Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth will face Viktor Hovland and Bernd Wisberger, and Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay will face Lee Westwood and Matt Fitzpatrick.
Rory McKilloly is out of session for the first time in her Ryder Cup career. He lost both games on Friday and neither contest passed the 15th hole.
