The return of La’el Collins brings drama to the Dallas Cowboys office lady

The Dallas Cowboys welcomed La’el Collins from a five-game suspension, but they don’t seem to be in the starting lineup shortly after he returned.

Dallas — The Dallas Cowboys return to work on Sunday night as they prepare for a trip to Minnesota to challenge the Vikings. After a week’s vacation, the team saw the player recover from the injury and, in the case of the aggressive lineman Rael Collins, return from suspension.

In the five weeks Collins missed, Understudy’s Terence Steele played well with the right tackle. Still, when Collins unsuspended, he was expected to return to his place in the starting lineup and Steele would return to the swing tackle as part of the flowering depth along the line.

As head coach Mike McCarthy said at a press conference, it doesn’t seem to be the case. The Cowboys look ready to ride the hot hand.

It’s not surprising that we want to bring Collins back into football, but the decision is still amazing. When Collins came out on the field, he performed like one of the better tackles in the league.

However, Steele retained himself on behalf of Collins and gained the right to remain as a starter, at least until the veteran returned to his feet. In the last five games, Steele has confronted some of the best edge rushers in the game and continued to carry out his mission. It’s not easy to take on Joey Bosa, Brian Burns, and Matthew Judon, but Steele did so and was able to keep quarterback Dak Prescott upright.

This is a cowboy, so there’s more to talk about. Collins is a great player, even if Steele exceeds expectations. I’m not sure why the coach is currently putting Collins behind Steele on the depth chart, but it’s natural to wonder if the team is trying to send a message after Collins’ suspension.

The bigger news from McCarthy may be that Collins works vigilantly in addition to working. For Collins, who started his career with 14 games on the left guard, this position isn’t new, but the move feels strange. Collins was decent on guard, but since taking action he has proven to be a better tackle.

Currently, the only guard to be debated is the left guard, to whom Connor Williams is currently assigned. Dallas isn’t going to replace their best aggressive lineman, right guard Zack Martin, so the only possible move is to replace Williams with Collins.

If the Cowboys are trying to get the five best offensive linemen on the field, moving Collins may be the answer. Collins doesn’t have to be a good guard. The team estimates that he must be better than Williams.

Of course, this can be a big fuss about nothing. Collins need time to get back into play, and the Cowboys support a week or two for Collins to be fully functional. In a sense, this could be Collins’ simplified training camp, and the Cowboys are trying to keep him from coming back too fast and getting injured too soon.

Whatever the reason, we need to rely on Cowboys and Offensive Line Coach Joe Philbin, who have played a big part in Steel’s development with a stable line play 5-1. If the team feels they can get the best five aggressive linemen in the game by staying alert to Collins and tackling Steele, the team needs to be confident that it will work. ..

The Cowboys are full of storylines coming out of their goodbye week, and the correct tackle story between Collins and Steele seems to be the greatest. Over time, you’ll know if Dallas is making the right call with the right tackle.
