Texas Governor Greg Abbott, R, called the immigration crisis at the southern border a “nightmare of health and security” in a new allegation of abuse in the maintenance of facilities.
Two state agencies have accused child abuse, sexual assault, and food shortages of minors, as well as a lack of staff to oversee the Freeman Coliseum facility, which houses hundreds of teens.
In San Antonio on Wednesday, Abbott called the accusation “outrageous.” He said the facility was in terrible condition and should be closed soon.
“Children in this facility should be transferred to other federal-run facilities where the federal government has the space, personnel, and resources to ensure their safety,” the governor said. ..
This is because the United States continues to fight the coronavirus pandemic. According to Abbott, minors who have caught the virus have not been properly isolated from other minors, and the virus has spread further. In addition, he said there were not enough resources to help the illness recover.
In late March, Abbott contacted Joe Biden in a letter calling on the White House to address the issue. However, the governor accused Biden of “failing to act” and accused the administration of a “reckless open border policy” that encouraged minors to be sent to the United States.
“The Biden administration has opened its borders and the administration has been unable to prepare for the influx of children who invited them to come,” Republicans said. “Now they are facing sneaky child abuse and neglect allegations. This must be ended.”
Biden opened the border and was unable to plan an influx of unaccompanied minors.
Now he has to deal with child abuse and neglect allegations with his watch.

The governor expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of action, but used the team to investigate allegations of abuse.
“While waiting for the Biden administration to act, I have instructed the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Rangers to begin investigating these allegations immediately,” Abbott explained.
The governor said he would demand that minors be sent to a more appropriate place if the allegations proved to be true.
“The Biden administration already says there are other places across the country,” he said. “Sure, they need to have better staff, better safety measures, and a place where children are not subject to such abuse.”
Meanwhile, Abbott immediately dispatched investigators, responding that results could come out within a few days.
