Mobile phones and tablets have become an irreplaceable part of our work, allowing us to remotely edit spreadsheets, monitor inventory, communicate with each other, and manage fleets. However, most mobile phones and tablets are not built to withstand harsh environments such as construction sites, emergency personnel, weather, and frequent falls.
However, there is a subset of durable tablets built to withstand most abuse (nothing can’t be destroyed because you’re facing it). It’s often an expensive investment, but its rugged appearance prevents you from spending a lot of money on repairing or replacing your device.
I ran one of Windows 10 to Android and found some rugged tablets built to prevent abuse of all kinds.

Wouldn’t it do as good a job as making a tablet sturdy?
Yes and no. Some high-end cases like the Otterbox are certainly designed to protect your tablet. Rugged tablets have some aspects that cannot be reproduced. For example, some tablets in this Roundup are designed to withstand harsh temperatures, in addition to being hard to break when dropped.
How did you choose these rugged tablets?
I’ve been testing and using tablets since the first iPad was released, and I’ve been using a large number of tablets over the years. Using my personal experience with tablets and reviews on the internet from users and professionals, I was able to come up with this list of rugged tablets.
Which sturdy tablet is right for you?
First, ask yourself what operating system you need. Basically, you have two choices, Android or Windows 10. Based on that answer, I’ve narrowed down the selection process considerably. From there, take a look at the details of each tablet. Can I customize the build? What kind of accessories do you have? What do I need to do with my tablet?
