A 24-year-old UPS driver was killed in his delivery truck on June 25 in Pasadena, California, when temperatures reached the 90s, a new report said.
Esteban Chavez Jr., known as Stevie, was delivering the packages when his turn suddenly fell.
“He fell from his seat in the truck,” his father, Esteban Chavez Sr., told KTLA 75. “By the time anyone realized it, who was the owner of the house who delivered the package, and that was about 20. my son fell and a few minutes later. By the time the first answers appeared, it was clear it was too late.
Coroner has not reported the cause of death, but Chavez’s family believes he died from high temperatures.
“Anyone know, it gets pretty hot outside, these trucks are hot boxes,” Chavez said of Sr. “All these guys are running around, delivering packages and trying to meet their quotas and get the job done.”
The UPS driver had just turned 24 the day before he died and returned to work after a break to recover from a shoulder injury.

Chavez had no known illness before, according to his father.
Chavez’s family created a GoFundMe page to raise money for his funeral.
“Our hearts are torn and this pain is unbearable,” wrote page organizer Suleyma Chavez. “We’re all going to lose a lot. He was full of life and gave so much to the world and to others. ”
As of Monday afternoon, nearly $ 26,000 had been raised.
