Washington (CBSDFW.COM/AP) — The US Supreme Court has dismissed an objection to Obama-era medical law and maintained insurance for millions of Americans.
The judge left the entire Affordable Care Act on Thursday in a ruling that Texas, other Republican-led states, and two individuals were not entitled to a proceeding in federal court. ..

The main provisions of the law include the protection of people with existing health conditions, various free preventive services, and the expansion of Medicaid programs that guarantee low-income people. We provide health insurance.

It also leaves the now toothless requirement of the law that people take out health insurance or pay fines. Congress made the provision irrelevant in 2017, when the penalty was reduced to zero.
