(Reuters)-Tesla dismisses a recent decision by an arbitrator in a U.S. court to dismiss a former engineer’s allegation that an automaker has dismissed her and disgraced her for expressing concern about floor mat defects and contract practices. Requested confirmation.

Tesla said in a petition filed in federal court in San Francisco Thursday that the company was criminalizing her in a November 3 ruling in which an arbitrator responded to a 2017 Huffington Post article on her dismissal. He said he had found Christina Balan’s allegations of false accusations.

In March, a California-based Court of Appeals ruled that defamation claims need to be arbitrated because they are directly related to employment in Tesla.

The company asked the court on Thursday to confirm the arbitrator’s decision. This allowed Balan to challenge it.

Mr Balan said in an email Friday that he was trying to revoke the arbitral award “because of fraud, corruption, prejudice … and a clear disregard of the law.”

In a 2019 proceeding, Mr. Balan said he was fired shortly after sending Tesla CEO Elon Musk an email claiming that the deal was signed on the basis of friendship, regardless of price or quality. rice field.

Balun also expressed concern that the Tesla Model S floor mat would curl under the pedals.

Tesla claimed in a statement submitted to the Huffington Post about Baran’s case that he was fired for spending his company’s time working on a personal project and illegally recording a conversation with a colleague. ..

Tesla praised Balan’s work before her firing, including praising her for completing the battery pack design, according to court filings.
