(Reuters) – Madison Keys wins Adelaide International on Saturday and fellow American Alison Riske 6 on a dominant serving display at Memorial Drive to help prepare for the Australian Open next week in a timely manner. Dodged -16-2.
Keys did a light job for her compatriots to win her first title since the 2019 Cincinnati Masters when Risk returned to the net to finish the match in 66 minutes.
The title is the sixth in Keys’ career and sets her up for the first round clash with 11th-seeded Sofia Kenin at Melbourne Park on Monday.
Keys got off to a fierce start, defeating the forehand winner beyond risk, securing a break in the second service game and leading 3-1.
The break was integrated after two games and Keys clinched the first set in just 28 minutes.
Keys controlled the second set with another victory in the risk serve in the opening game. At the age of 31, she tried to keep her opponents away, but she broke again before Keys entered the match, so there was little she could do. ..
