(Reuters) – Taliban supporters paraded a casket covered with American and NATO flags in the eastern city of Khost on Tuesday.
A mock funeral, in which coffins covered with French and British flags were also carried through a large crowd, marked the end of the 20-year war and the hasty and humiliating exit of Washington and its NATO allies. ..
Some in the crowd were hoisting their guns high, while others were waving the Taliban flag and lining up on their cell phones.
“August 31st is our official Freedom Day. On this day, US occupation and NATO troops fled the country,” Taliban official Qari Saeed Khosti said during an event interview with a local television station. I told Zhman TV.
