Less than 20% of American adults meet federal guidelines for aerobic and muscle-building exercise. These guidelines require moderate intensity aerobics with strength-building exercises for 150 minutes, at least two days a week. However, a small burst of activity can offer the same health benefits as an intense gym session. Dr. Jordan Metsle, a sports medicine practitioner at the New York Special Surgery Hospital, participates in “CBS This Morning” and shares an example of a simple exercise routine.
