“I couldn’t even really sleep last night just because I didn’t know what would happen,” said traveler Levi Stinson.
Stinson’s story is not unique, as thousands of Southwest Airlines passengers were stuck due to flight cancellations or delays.
More than 800 flights were canceled on Saturday and more than 1,000 on Sunday.

The Southwest blamed air traffic control issues and devastating weather, as well as Florida staffing issues.
But some customers haven’t bought it. “I don’t think Southwest Airlines is completely honest with us because there is no explanation for this issue,” said Jeff Coles, a passenger whose flight was cancelled.
Officials at Fort Lauderdale International Airport said the delay was due to bad weather in the north. According to the FAA, traffic control and staffing issues only occurred for a few hours on Friday night, and some airlines’ schedule challenges continued because “aircraft and crew were out of place.” was.
There was speculation about pilot strikes after Southwest Airlines mandated employees to vaccinate last week. The Southwest Airlines Pilot Association does not say, “… we can confidently say that our pilots are not participating in formal or informal work activities.” However, CBS News learned last week that the union had asked the court to block the mandate.
