(Reuters) – Inter Miami coach Phil Neville said he was ready to turn the season around after a one-on-one draw with the Philadelphia Union on Sunday and losing six games in a row.

Neville, who replaced Diego Alonso in the near season, is a friend of Miami co-owner David Beckham, and the club’s disastrous record of two wins, three draws and eight losses premiered the MLS playoffs. I feel enthusiasm for that. Last season.

“It feels like we’re around the corner,” Neville told reporters Thursday.

“I think there was a gap between negativeness and bad results. I’m horny in that the whole club is better thinking, better acting, and finding that we’re on a big and big path. I feel like I’m bent.

“And I realize that life doesn’t always bring you success. We really need to work hard, fight, and be together. Last month I told everyone in the club about it. . ”

The road to the last-placed team at the Eastern Conference begins on Saturday when Miami faces Montreal, who defeated Miami in two previous meetings of the club this season. Miami has 21 regular seasons remaining.

“We have no illusions. In the two games before we played against them, Montreal naturally became the winner,” he said.

Miami was boosted early Thursday when it announced a deal with centerback Ventura Alvarado.

According to MLS, the 28-year-old former US defender will arrive at Liga MX 10 years later, aiming to strengthen his defense by scoring 23 goals in 13 games.

“We have a choice of teams that fit perfectly, and we’ve added Alvarado, which makes one player stronger,” says Neville.

Miami will host Montreal on Saturday at the DRVPNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.
