Madrid (Reuters) -Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone praised the Premier League team’s playing style, saying they expect a tough challenge against Champions League Group B Liverpool on Tuesday.

Atletico has won three of the last four games against Liverpool. This includes a 3-2 comeback win at Anfield in the last 16 games of 2019-20.

“Chelsea, (Manchester) City and Liverpool are all great, but it’s really fun to see Liverpool,” Simeone said at a press conference on Monday.

“They push high and play the high line. They are not afraid to leave space behind. They have very fast players to go to breaks. (Virgil) van Dijk (Virgil) Now (returning from long-term injuries) they have improved their defensive strength.

“We don’t expect anything other than a team that makes things very difficult for us. We try to find a way to hurt them, we need to match their strengths, We aim to create our own opportunities. “

Simeone added that centre-back Jose Guimenez, midfielder Marcos Llorente and forward Mateus Santo face a slow reputation for the match.

Atletico is second in Group B, scoring 4 points in two games and two points behind leader Liverpool.
