Snapdragon 780G announces approaching flagship chipset

The Snapdragon 780G was officially announced as Qualcomm’s new 5nm platform. This time, it is for mid-range smartphones. This is the most advanced chipset available to the company following the flagship 8 Series processors.

The Snapdragon 780G is built on the same 5nm manufacturing process as the top-end Snapdragon 888. This is the successor to the Snapdragon 765G, which powered devices such as India’s OnePlus Nord and Vivo X50 Pro. Details have not yet been revealed, but it is said to be an octa-core processor with two high-performance Cortex A78 cores operating at 2.4GHz and six Cortex A55 cores operating at 1.8GHz. Production may be done by Samsung Foundry.

“Since we announced the Snapdragon 7 series three years ago, we have launched more than 350 devices based on the 7 series mobile platform. Today, we continue this momentum with the introduction of the Snapdragon 780G 5G mobile platform. “We do,” said Kedar Kondap, vice president of product management at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.

The Snapdragon 780G uses an optimized Snapdragon X53 5G modem and supports a theoretical peak download speed of 3.3Gbps at frequencies below 6GHz.It also has Wi-Fi 6, advanced Wi-Fi 6E, and Snapdragon sound Improves audio transmission over Bluetooth.
