In Singapore, 3,994 new cases of coronavirus were recorded on Tuesday, with more than 3,000 recent infections per day. Most are asymptomatic or mild, with more than 80% of the 5.45 million population vaccinated.

Until recently, Singapore had largely controlled the virus through border closures and strict contact tracing and quarantine.
