In 2016, Biles’ mother Shannon told the Dailymail.com that her family was forced to take care of four young children because of her drug and alcoholism.
They spent their childhood in Ohio, both inside and outside foster parents, before Simone, a six-year-old sister, Adria, was adopted by her maternal grandfather Ronald Byles and his wife Nelly.
Shannon’s eldest son and daughter, Tevin and Ashley, are believed to have been taken to Ronald’s sister and raised in Cleveland.
