Shooting on West Walnut Street: A man shot dead in a parking lot

Garland, Texas — The Garland Police Department is investigating early Monday morning after a man was found shot dead in a parking lot.

According to police, police responded to a shopping center in Block 4300 on West Walnut Street around 1 am after receiving a 911 call that could be shot. Police said the caller heard the gunshot and saw a man lying on the ground.

When the police arrived there, they found a man who had been shot multiple times, police said. According to police, first responders took the victims to the hospital, where he died.

Garland police said it was still unclear what happened before the shooting and who was involved, but murder investigators said they were investigating death as a possible murder.
