Shaheen Holloway, Saint Peter’s men’s football coach, has been shown the path to take on the role of Seton Hall before the start of the 2022-23 season.
Holloway, who was at Seton Hall when the Pirates went to the Sweet 16 at the 2000 NCAA Tournament, has been busy since Kevin Willard left the program for Maryland. According to the New York Post, Holloway was expected to take over and Seton Hall did not speak to the other candidates.

After Saint Peter lost to North Carolina in the Elite Eight to finish their Cinderella run, Holloway was asked about his future in the coming weeks.
“I’m not worried about it every now and then. I’m worried about those 15 young men who have broken their hearts and are really humble. My job is for their leadership to comfort them, to make them understand what they’re doing. the last two weeks… And like I said, we’re going to be out of here like we’re going to be here, with our heads up, “Holloway said.

Willard gave Holloway his seal of approval after Seton Hall came out of the first round of the competition earlier this month.
“If I’m not here next year, I wish Shaheen Holloway was here. That’s the happiest thing I’ve ever had,” Willard said.
Holloway was a head coach under Willard and a defensive assistant under Bobby Gonzalez for the 206-07 season.

He led Saint Peter to their first victory in the history of the program. He is 64-54 as the Peacocks ’head coach.
