WrestleMania 38 on its way to Texas

WrestleMania is on its way back to Texas for the fourth time. However, in 2022, the biggest wrestling event WWE hold will be twice as hectic. It’s on at the AT&T stadium but there’ll be the chance to bet on two shows on April 2 and 3.

This is the show that WWE put maximum effort into, and the odds are it’ll be an action-packed two nights of action. This is the third year in a row that the company have extended WrestleMania to two nights, rather the usual one.

WrestleMania 17 was the first time this show was held in Texas. The Reliant Astrodome in Houston hosted the event, one of the best seen. With everything from The Rock v ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, an awesome Table, Ladders and Chairs match and a crazy gimmick battle royal, that card had everything.

Eight years later, the same venue hosted WrestleMania 25. It was a show that had a big Canadian input. In Canada, sports betting has become increasingly popular. If registering with a site, make sure you find out the best sportsbooks offers in Canada.

‘The Wrestler’ was a top movie that year and its star Mickey Rourke ended up in the ring knocking out Canadian wrestler Chris Jericho. Edge was the world heavyweight champion but lost the belt to John Cena in a match that also included The Big Show. Not the best night to bet on Canadians.

It wasn’t until WrestleMania 32 that sportsbooks had the chance to make odds on a Texan WrestleMania This time it was held at the AT&T Stadium with Triple H losing his world heavyweight title to Roman Reigns. Anyone wanting to bet on the shortest ever WrestleMania match taking place was in a good mood. The Rock beat Erik Rowan and it took just six seconds for him to do so.

Now WrestleMania 38 is just weeks away and the temperature in WWE is rising. This is the show they just must get right. There’s millions of dollars to be made and you can bet the company will do everything they can to make it a massive success.

One massive title match has already been confirmed. Fans may long to see Ronda Rousey in a one-on-one math with Becky Lynch, but that’s probably WrestleMania 39. This year In Texas, we’ll see Rousey challenge Charlotte Flair (daughter of the legendary Ric Flair) for her Smackdown Women’s title.

Rousey made her name in MMA but went on to have more success in WWE. Her return to the company came last month when she won the Royal Rumble. When word got out that Rousey was coming back to WWE (she’d left to start a family), sportsbooks soon changed their odds and made her the favorite.

Those short odds were justified, and the last woman eliminated was Flair. Friday February 4 saw Rousey confirm that she’d challenge the champion at WrestleMania 38 in Texas. That’s likely to be the main event on one of the shows.

The other will see Brock Lesnar take on Roman Reigns for the Universal title. That’s if Reigns can keep his title when defending against WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg. Lesnar might even be WWE champion again if beating current title holder Bobby Lashley in the Elimination Chamber. Whatever happens, a great match is on its way at WrestleMania 38.

Canada will again be well represented at this show. When Edge announced his retirement 11 years ago, due to a neck injury, few would have bet on him wrestling for WWE in 2022. Given the all-clear by the doctors, Edge returned in 2020 and won the Royal Rumble. A title match against champion Roman Reigns and Bryan Danielson didn’t see him win the belt.

2020 continued with a long-running feud with Randy Orton. That even included the chance for gamblers to bet on ‘the greatest wrestling match ever.’ It wasn’t of course but hopefully it produced some winners for those betting on it.

After feuding with Seth Rollins, Edge (and his wife Beth Phoenix) have been in some entertaining battles with The Miz (and his wife Maryse). Whether that will extend to a match at WrestleMania isn’t known at present. To be honest, they should have saved the mixed tag match they had at the Royal Rumble for WrestleMania.

Sami Zayn is also likely to be at WrestleMania. The Canadian King of the conspiracy theories could be Inter Continental champion by then. He lost a match for that title at WrestleMania 25, perhaps betting on him winning in Texas this year might be a profitable bet to make.

WrestleMania is always a major event. Expect some celebrities to appear and ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin is likely to make an appearance, perhaps as host. Who knows, we might even get an appearance from The Undertaker, only time will tell.
