New Orleans – Retired Saints quarterback Drew Brees has finally been sent off by the crowded and noisy Superdome.
When Breeze summoned a Thursday night match between New Orleans and Buffalo as part of the NBC broadcast team, the franchise chose to honor Breeze in the field in half-time.
A montage of memorable moments from Breeze’s career before the band of Southern University spelled “Breeze # 9” in the field and Saint owner Gale Benson introduced Breeze to the Superdome video board. It was played in. Cheers broke out, and soon a long howl of “Dreeew!” Continued.
“We have experienced incredible moments in this field and in this city. Thank you for loving us, thank you for accepting me and my family. We always love you , Always strive to be proud of you. “
Breeze then raised his fist into the air, urging the crowd to surpass the traditional chanting of “who, who, who is saying to defeat the saints.”
“Dear the greatest fans in the world, let’s blow the top of this dome and let the world feel and hear it,” Breeze bowed down and began the chant.
The crowd then cheered as Breeze left the field and returned to work.
Breeze, who played 20 and the last 15 seasons in New Orleans, played the last season, mostly in front of a sparse crowd, because the NFL operated under the COVID-19 protocol.
He retired as the NFL’s greatest leader ever at 80,358 yards in the last offseason, but has since lost to Tom Brady in Tampa Bay this season.
Breeze’s 571 Career Touchdown Pass is second only to Breeze’s 610 times.
Breeze, who started his career at the then San Diego Chargers in 2001, came to New Orleans in August 2005 when the city was still dealing with the widespread devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina. d In 2005 it was 3-13, improved to 10-6 and advanced to the franchise’s first NFC title game.
This was the first season of nine seasons when Breeze led Saints to the playoffs, where the team won one Super Bowl and advanced to the NFC Championship Game three times.
