Russia Ukrainian news: “Twelve officers of Vladimir Putin killed” in Kherson strike

Twelve Russian officers are believed to have been killed in a single rocket as Ukrainian armed forces inflicted punitive losses on weapons supplied by the United States.

The attack targeted a command post at Chornobaivka airport, near the occupied southern city of Kherson, and killed at least one general and a colonel. It is believed to have been made with US HIMARS rockets.

The video shows an explosion of ammunition debris at the base, according to Russian Telegram channels, which Putin is angry about because Russia’s S-400 air anti-aircraft system lacks the capacity to protect its armed forces.

Ukraine comes as its one-million-strong army prepares for a major offensive around Kherson, with the aim of reclaiming territory taken by Russia at the beginning of the conflict.

Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov reported that President Zelensky has ordered his generals to make plans for the attack and make a list of the equipment they need to carry out the work.

Reznikov then says that his job will be to go to the allies of western Ukraine and make a case for the delivery of these weapons, as he did with HIMARS.

“We are people in a free world and have a real sense of justice and freedom,” he told The Times.

“We have about 700,000 in the armed forces and when you add the national guard, the police, the border guard, we are a million strong.”

Chornobaivka Airport – which was the last attack of HIMARS – is a strategically important aerodrome located in southern Ukraine, which was captured by Russia at the beginning of the war, and now serves as a military airport.

It is hardly the first time the plane has been the target of Ukrainian attacks, as dozens of helicopters were destroyed at the start of the war and caused heavy losses to Putin’s men.

But as the first line pushed further west, the airport was left out of the Kyiv men’s area. However, with the arrival of American rocket systems it can be hit again.

The aerodrome is located near Kherson, which is the only capital of the region that has fallen under Putin’s army and will be the focus of the fight against Ukraine.

Russian State War TV journalist Alexander Sladkov – who is often linked to the shadowy Wagner Group and sends pro-Kremlin propaganda – wrote overnight from Ukraine that “it has hit our decision-makers several times with results.”

He added: ‘The centers are small but important. I will not write here where, when, how much and by whom [was hit] not to give up military secrets.

“My question is simple: when will this bull end?

“You can have a military-industrial complex **** so we can have prevention in the end [means to stop these missile attacks]. ‘

A report says Putin is so angry that he is looking for goats and is turning to his allies because the famous S-400 missile defense system is not working effectively in war.

Former Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov, who led Putin’s SVR foreign intelligence spies and now chairman of the Almaz-Antey arms manufacturer’s board, could be released and could also face criminal action for his failures, according to the Telegram’s Sanctions RF channel.

Also, the director general of the state arms company, Yan Novikov, said in the report.

“The S-400 has begun to be dismantled in the Russian Ministry of Defense … because it cannot adequately protect airspace and cannot even protect itself. [from HIMARS attacks]”the report said.

Putin is reportedly considering removing former Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov Almaz-Antey and the head of the arms manufacturer from office because of S-400 failures.

Colonel Sergey Kuzminov

Lieutenant Colonel Alexey Tikhonov

Colonel Sergey Kuzminov (left) and Lieutenant Colonel Alexey Tikhonov (right) have both been confirmed dead in Ukraine, bringing the death toll to 62.

“The technical characteristics of the flagship air defense system were often overestimated, and the money allocated for the development of the S-400 was successfully stolen.

“The scam came recently when the S-400 did not launch a single HIMARS missile in the Donbas or Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.

“Not only that – in an attack on a military base in Ilovaisk, HIMARS missiles destroyed the S-400 complex, which was supposed to protect the area from air attacks.”

Meanwhile, two other Russian colonels have been reported dead today, and at least 62 people have been killed in the war, as Putin’s officers have suffered horrific casualties.

Lieutenant Colonel Aleksey Tikhonov is said to have died in the Kherson region, which was hit hard by the Ukrainian bombing.

Tikhonov, in his early 40s, served in the 46th Brigade of the Russian National Guard in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

It is not clear exactly where, when or how he died. Russia often delays the reporting of deaths for weeks, with the intention of confusing the toll of war with the public.

Colonel Sergey Igorevich Kuzminov, the commander of the elite paratrooper, was also killed in Kherson.

Kuzminov, also from the Nizhny Novgorod region, served in the 106th Airborne Division.
