Report: Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks changed to Denver Broncos

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has been traded to the Denver Broncos.

SEATTLE – The Seattle Seahawks have traded quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos, according to several reports.

According to the NFL Network Tom Pelisserothe Broncos are sending a “massive run” to the nine-time Pro Bowl quarterback, including several first-round draft picks and additional selections and players.

The Seahawks will supposedly receiving quarterback Drew Lock, winger Noah Fant, defensive lineman Shelby Harris, two first-round picks, two second-round picks and a fifth-round pick from the Broncos for Wilson and a fourth-round pick.

Adam Schefter, an NFL ESPN expert, said “the exchange is pending physical and Wilson approval.” Schefter said the Broncos general manager “started business talks with Seattle for Wilson at least two weeks ago.”

Schefter called trade “one of the biggest trades in NFL history.”

Shortly after the news broke, the Broncos tweeted a gif of Wilson’s volleyball from the 2000 film Cast Away.

An hour and a half later, the Seahawks tweeted the Cast Away clip where Tom Hanks’ character loses Wilson in volleyball. The tweet was later removed.

Wilson has two years left on his current contract with the Seahawks.

This past season was the first time in four years that the Seahawks have lost the playoffs and the first time they have finished with a record loss since Wilson arrived.

Wilson missed several games with a finger injury. In 14 games, he threw for 3,113 yards with 25 touchdowns and six interceptions.

Earlier this month, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said the team was not looking to move the 33-year-old quarterback.

Wilson, who spent 10 seasons with the Seahawks, has been a possible trade goal for the past two years for several teams, with growing speculation after Seattle’s 7-10 season that the team would be hearing exchange deals for him.

During last season’s low season, Wilson told the Seahawks he wanted to stay in Seattle, but his agent made a list of four teams that would accept changes. ESPN’s Adam Schefter said they were the Chicago Bears, the Dallas Cowboys, the Las Vegas Raiders and the New Orleans Saints.
