Rep. Chiproy has announced that he will face Elise Stefanik for a leadership position in the Republican House of Representatives.

Texas Parliamentarian Chiproy announces face-to-face with Elise Stefanik for leadership position in the House Republican Party

  • Chiproy announced his entry into the race the night before the vote on Friday
  • Some Republicans question the conservative qualifications of Elise Stefanik
  • The winner will replace Liz Cheney, who was dismissed as the third-highest Republican in the House of Representatives following Wednesday’s vote.
  • Donald Trump said he doesn’t think house members would choose Roy
  • However, conservative Roy, a former chief of staff for Senator Ted Cruz, was able to gain support from the influential right-wing Freedom Caucus.
  • Cheney was overthrown from a Republican conference leadership after voting to impeach Trump for inciting a riot in the U.S. Capitol.

Texas Rep. Chiproy has announced that he will face Elise Stephanik as a successor to Liz Cheney.

He confirmed that Cheney would challenge New York Republicans after being fired from her post as the third GOP leader in the House of Representatives.

Roy, a second-term conservative, told reporters:

Cheney was voted on after former President Donald Trump, who accused him of causing a riot in the Capitol on January 6.

Trump has already issued a statement criticizing Roy, again proclaiming his support for Congressman Stephanik.

Nonetheless, conservative Trump supporters, who were keen to abandon Cheney, expressed concern about Stephanique.

She previously engaged in Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign and has less conservative voting records than Cheney.

Conservative Roy, a former Chief of Staff of Republican Senator Ted Cruz, was able to win support from the influential right-wing Freedom Caucus.

Some house conservatives have complained about Stefanik’s more modest voting record, including opposition to the Republican 2017 tax cuts.

At the time, she said she would hurt New York members who had to pay large taxes each year.

Stephanique wrote to a colleague, where she promised to listen and met with members of the conservative Freedom Caucus at least twice.

She has already won the support of Trump and House minority leader Kevin McCarthy and minority Whip Steve Scalise after vigorously defending him during his first impeachment.

Republicans may also tend to choose women instead of Cheney. This is because men occupy the top two leadership positions and it is often difficult for Republicans to appeal to female voters in the suburbs.

The former president weighed in minutes after Roy announced that he would reaffirm his support for Stephanique.

“I can’t imagine a Republican going with Chiproy. He hasn’t done a great job and will probably succeed in becoming prime minister in his own district,” he posted on his website. Said in a statement.

“I support Elise much more through the tip!”

Liz Cheney refused to retreat prior to voting to expel her from Republican leadership on Tuesday, calling Donald Trump

Liz Cheney refused to retreat prior to voting to expel her from Republican leadership on Tuesday, calling Donald Trump “a liar of the Crusades to undermine our democracy.” That’s right.

Cheney fell out of leadership at the Republican Congress after voting to impeach Trump for inciting a riot in the US Capitol in January.

Since then, she has been increasingly dissatisfied with Republican ranks and files for criticizing Trump for continuing to attract supporters, claiming that Trump lost the 2020 presidential election due to fraudulent elections. I’m sorry.

Trump’s allegations were rejected by many courts and his own administration.
