Dallas (AP) — Joe Pavelsky scored two goals and two assists, and Alexandru Radurov also scored two goals, with Dallas defeating the Nashville Predators 7-0 in the opening round of the Stars season on Friday night.
The Stars have passed the Predators with the announcement of the Western Conference Championship banner. Anton Kudobin stopped 34 shots at the first start of the season and Joel Kibilanta had goals and assists.
Five of Dallas’ goals were scored during the second period, including three power play goals and an unassisted short-hand list shot by Esarindel.

It was a team. The league has not identified the exact reason, but only veteran forward breakcomo was not available in the first game due to the COVID protocol.
Nashville (2-2) played for the first time since Monday, the day before his second consecutive match against North Carolina was postponed due to a hurricane virus issue.
Dallas returned home for the first time in 318 days after losing 4-2 to the New York Rangers on March 10 and losing six times in a row. When the season resumed months later in Edmonton’s NHL bubble playoffs, the Stars reached their first Stanley Cup Finals since 2000 before losing in Game 6 with Tampa Bay.

His 9th shutout was also his 100th regular season victory.
Radlov mainly assisted Pavelsky’s shot from the knee in front of the left side circle, giving him a 5-3 advantage on his first goal. The Stars were still in power play when Pavelsky fired a shot and Radurov turned his back on the net and turned the puck from his foot to goalkeeper Jusse Salos.
After Dennis Grianov scored in another power play, Radurov raised Dallas to 4-0 when he stood up from behind the net and swiped the stick backhand to score a second goal.
Pavelsky and Kibilanta added power play goals in the third period and faced Peka Linee, who entered after Salos allowed five goals with 20 shots.
Stars captain Jamie Ben was injured when his right foot buckled awkwardly after colliding with Victor Albidson in the second phase. Ben had to be helped before he could walk awkwardly through the tunnel. He returned to the ice a few minutes later due to Grianov’s power play goal, but did not return in the third phase.
Predator Center Mikael Granlund made her season debut after a week of quarantine and a single practice after returning from her home in Finland. He had four shots while playing for nearly 18 minutes. A three-shot game of the first period, including a wraparound attempt to Kudobin’s pad and a hard second shot on the rebound.
