Possible Kardashians jurors despise their faces

THE ANGELS Talking about Kardashians is a common pastime for many ordinary Americans. On Monday, a few put him in the face.

Kim Kardashian, her mother Kris Jenner, and her sisters Khloe Kardashian and Kylie Jenner sat in the front row of a Los Angeles courtroom as potential jurors expressed their feelings about the famous family and the four women, all charged in a lawsuit. by Rob Kardashian. the former fiancée Blac Chyna.

“Everything that has to do with their names is a big no for me,” one man said. “I don’t think reality TV is good for society.”

Chyna, whose legal name is Angela White, is suing the Kardashians, alleging that they destroyed her television career, and during the jury selection her lawyer Lynne Ciani asked dozens of candidates her feelings about the plaintiff and the defendants, and the reality shows that the case derives.

Another said, “I sincerely hope none of these people get richer because of this.”

One woman said her teenage daughter tried to watch “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” when it first happened, but she put it down.

“I don’t think they were the best models to follow,” he said. “I wouldn’t let her see anything that involved them.”

A member of the panel could not even wait to be asked. They told him his name, occupation, marital status and hometown shortly after he sat down, he replied and added, “And I just want to say that I have a very negative perception of the parties and I’m not sure I can be impartial.”

Defendants did not defend themselves in the face of disrespect. They chatted among themselves and smiled at recess.

However, Judge Gregory W. Alarcon was not entirely satisfied with the tone.

“I appreciate your honesty. You’re certainly not shy,” he told the panel. “But this is the kind of case like all cases where everyone has the right to a fair trial. There’s a jury instruction that says a party’s wealth or party poverty doesn’t matter.”

Jury selection is expected to continue on Tuesday and opening statements will follow. All Kardashian women are expected to testify during the trial, and at least parts of it are expected to attend, but their appearance for the jury selection was a surprise.

Wearing loose business suits, the mother in white, her daughters in black and gray, were approached by security at the last moment before the jury was presented.

A possible juror, who has served in other cases, said he did not like the spoiled treatment he felt the defendants were receiving.

Michael G. Rhodes, the Kardashians’ attorney, explained that the court’s security took them and escorted them to the courtroom for a reason.

“Do you understand that there’s a dark side to celebrity,” Rhodes said, “and that celebrities sometimes need more security?”

“Does that mean they need water from Fiji to hand over to them while they sit in court?” replied the man.

The family also had fans in the room.

“I’m a big fan of the Kardashians, so I don’t think I can make an unbiased judgment,” one girl said.

“I’m also a big fan of the Kardashians,” one young man said. “I’ve been watching it since I was a kid, so I don’t think it can be very fair.”

Kardashian fans said they knew who Blac Chyna was, but did not develop strong feelings for her.

One woman who said she didn’t care about the Kardashians said she liked Chyna because they both went to the same manicure salon and she “was always nice to me.”

Chyna, a model and influencer, started dating Kardashian’s lone brother Rob in January 2016, and when the year was over they were engaged, had a daughter together and starred in their own spin-off “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” . called “Rob & Chyna” on the E! network.

It was filming a second season when the two broke up and the show was dropped.

Announcement

In 2017, Chyna sued the family for $ 100 million, saying they defamed her and illegally interfered with her contracts and business dealings, using her power with producers and executives to oust her from reality TV.

The Kardashians denied any wrongdoing and said in court records that they had legitimate concerns about Chyna and fears for the safety of her son and brother given the “violence and toxicity” of the relationship.

Chyna is also suing Rob Kardashian, but differences in her charges against him have led the judge to separate that part of the case in a separate trial that will follow this one.

The family gained fame through 20 seasons of “Keeping Up With The Kardashians,” which ran from 2007 to 2021 on E!

A sequel to Hulu, “The Kardashians,” premiered Thursday.
