Police say a man died after a vehicle burned after a collision on the West Side

San Antonio – According to San Antonio police, a man died after a car burned after an overnight collision on the west side of the city.

The crash occurred on Saturday at 10:48 pm on the 1400 block of the US Highway 90W.

Police said the man’s car was driving at high speed with the headlights off when he suddenly tried to change lanes.

This caused the vehicle to hit a metal barrier separating the main lane and the exit lane.

Officials said the impact caused the vehicle to burn. Eventually, citizens could pull the car and extinguish it with a portable fire extinguisher.

However, when the fire brigade and police arrived, the man was declared dead on the scene.

No other injuries have been reported and investigations are ongoing.
