Warsaw (Reuters) – T-Mobile’s Polish unit said it faced a cyberattack on Friday, but said its network was unblocked and critical systems were not at risk.

The company said in a statement that it faced a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack. In this attack, a hacker attempts to paralyze the network by flooding it with an unusually large amount of data traffic.

“This was the biggest attack of this type against the T-Mobile network and, to our knowledge, the biggest direct attack against Polish mobile network operators,” he said.

T-Mobile also said the attacks and their consequences have been analyzed and reported to relevant authorities.
