Panthers has signed a four-year contract with Sam Bennett. Next is Sam Reinhart?

Sam Bennett re-signed with the Florida Panthers on Monday and has signed a four-year contract with the team that’s right for him since he joined the trade deadline.

Bennett scored 6 goals and 9 assists to 15 points in 10 regular season matches against the Panthers after winning him from Calgary. The 25-year-old was also a point-a-game player in the Florida playoff series, scoring goals and four assists.

“Sam’s impact on the club this season was immediate and physique, skill and energy were injected into the lineup,” General Manager Bill Zito said in a statement. “We are excited to add him to the Panthers lineup and look forward to what he can bring to our attack in the next 2021-22 season.”

His contract is reported to be worth $ 17.6 million — a $ 4.4 million salary cap hit annually throughout the 2024-25 season.

The Panthers have also re-signed defenses Lucas Carlson and Noah Jursen for next season. Next may be a new deal for Forward Samline Heart, which I got from Buffalo on Saturday.

“It will all be announced and addressed in due course,” Reinhardt said of the deal with Florida. “We are comfortable that we are both excited about the future. No problems will occur in the future.”

Given the price paid by the Panthers (goalkeeper prospect Devon Levi and the first round pick of 2022) and the production of Reinhardt, it could be a better deal than Bennett. Reinhardt is a team that has never played off and is a 20-goal scorer five times, so the opportunity to participate in a stronger lineup may pay dividends.

Another NHL move is one step closer to St. Louis Bruce resigning Australia’s Nathan Walker, Jake Wiltanen clearing the unconditional exemption and being acquired by Vancouver Canucks.

While at the NHL, Walker signed a two-year contract worth $ 750,000 a year. After scoring just 5 points in 38 games last season, Virtanen made a fresh start by becoming a free agent, shy about his 25th birthday.

Report from Daily Face Off It was revealed that Vegas was about to re-sign a three-year contract worth more than $ 15 million for defense defender Alec Martinez, who played with a broken leg in the playoffs. At the age of 34 on Monday, Martinez scored an overtime goal of winning the Stanley Cup twice in Los Angeles and winning the Kings’ second championship in 2014.
