ARLINGTON, Texas – Surviving members of the famous Texas Panther metal band will reunite for a tour in 2023, according to reports.
Wallet reports that singer Phil Anselmo and bassist Rex Brown will reunite for the tour and Black Label Society guitarist Zakk Wylde and Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante will fill the shoes of the iconic Abbott brothers.
“Dimebag” Darrell Abbott was murdered while performing on stage in 2004 with his band Damageplan and Vincent “Vinnie Paul” Abbott died in 2018 of heart disease. Both are buried in Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington.
Dimebag Darrell was the guitarist for Pantera and Vinne Paul the drummer for the award-winning heavy metal band.
Tour dates have not yet been announced, but 2023 will mark the 20th anniversary of the band’s breakup. It’s been 22 years since the last Pantera tour.
Agree with Walletthe group will headline a number of European and North American festivals this summer before touring in 2023, but no dates have been confirmed.
Local fans are waiting for San Antonio to make the tour date list. Dallas is very likely, as the band is from Arlington.
