The· 93rd Academy Awards It will be held two months later on Sunday night and will be broadcast without a host this year. Instead of choosing an acceptance speech via zoom, Oscar has two face-to-face locations: the Dolby Theater in Hollywood and the Union Station in downtown Los Angeles. Some overseas candidates receive awards from London and Paris.

This year’s Hollywood was unusual.Theaters across the country were closed due to COVID-19 Pandemic, Most movies were watched on streaming services.

The 2021 Oscar already stands out in the diversity of candidates from the previous year. For the first time, there are two women nominated for Best Director. Chloe Zhao is the first Chinese woman and first-colored woman to be nominated for Best Director in her work Nomadland. Stephen Yun of “Minari” was the first Asian American to be nominated for Best Actor, and Riz Ahmed of “Sound of Metal” was the first Muslim to be nominated for Best Actor.

Zhao and “Nomadland” are believed to like to win the Golden Globe Awards for Best Director and Best Picture, as well as after receiving the Critics Award.
