Driver license system down due to outage, DPS says

These services include renewing or replacing a driver license or identification card and obtaining a driver record.

“All day long they are having this problem,” said Abul Hasan who visited the Plano location on Tuesday. “[Online also] was a very slow system and giving me an error,” he said.

Officials say they are working to identify the issue, which they say is related to a driver license system update that took place over the weekend, and say they will fix the issue as quickly as possible.

The upgrade is impacting all driver license services, including renewing or replacing a driver license or ID card, obtaining a driver record and verifying eligibility.
