NHL Stanley Cup Final 2022 odds: Title and line-up, picks

I don `t know Tampa Bay Lightning will make history or Colorado Avalanche will end a 21-year title drought as the teams battle it out in the Stanley Cup Finals.

The Avalanche advanced to the finals for the first time since 2001. The Lightning advanced to the finals for the third time in a row.

The Lightning, who joined the NHL in 1992, are looking for their fourth Cup (Tampa Bay won its first title in 2004).

Avs — formerly Quebec Nordiques — have won the Cup twice (1996, 2001).

The Colorado Avalanche was 4-0 (100%) vs. Tampa Bay Lightning in 2021/2022

FOX Bet associate trader Steven Hemke described the final as a “dream battle” between two-time reigning champion Lightning and points leader Avalanche West.

“These teams really don’t have the recent history in the playoffs to prepare for big action for the books on either side,” Hemke said.

Hemke loves the recent experience and the Tampa Bay goalkeeper, who will have a boost with the return of center Brayden Point, missed the conference final with a lower body injury. Point scored a Cup match goal during the 2020 playoffs.

Nikita Kucherov of Tampa Bay is the leading playoff goalscorer among the teams with 23 points.

A high avalanche, featuring Nathan MacKinnon, Cale Makar, Gabriel Landeskog and Mikko Rantanen – all top 10 draft picks – averaging a post-season best of 4.64 goals per game.

But goalkeeper Andrei Vasilevskiy gave Lightning the lead, said Hemke. Vasilevskiy won the Vezina Trophy (top goalkeeper) in 2019 and the Conn Smythe Trophy (Stanley Cup MVP) last season.
